Located in Queens, New York, was established in 1995. Currently located in a brand new, state of the art 4,500 sq. ft. facility, PMA offers programs for all ages. The youth program is age specific and is targeted towards the developmental stage of each child.

Shidogakuin is a Kendo organization that includes many affiliated dojos along the east coast, including: New York City, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey and Washington, DC. Its members include a number of accomplished practitioners in both kendo and iaido.
Shidogakuin welcomes both novices and experienced students. The dojo believes in emphasizing the fundamentals that will enable practitioners to continuously develop their skills and hone their spirit for a lifetime of rewarding practice. The Japan Karate Association of Brooklyn, founded in 1972, offers training in traditional Shotokan Karate-Do. The school is affiliated with the Japan Karate Association (JKA), a world-wide organization dedicated to encourage and assist students in their growth and understanding of Shotokan, and to promote the development of the art generally. It is also a member of Shotokan Karate-do International (SKDI). SKDI operates out of New York City and serves as the headquarters for many JKA clubs worldwide.
Classes are taught by Sensei Shu Takahashi, 7th dan. Sensei Takahashi is a JKA-licensed tournament judge, examiner and instructor. Additionally, he currently teaches karate at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook, and has taught at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) from 1983 to 1997. Sensei Takahashi has studied under Sensei Mori, 8th dan, since 1963.

In 1963 Professor Bill Mcloud's martial arts training started when he began boxing at the "Police Athletic League" (PAL). He boxed in various PAL's learning the fundamentals of the art of boxing, but one of the places he enjoyed going to box was at St. John's recreation center in Brooklyn.

The origins of Goju Ryu Karate are shrouded in the mists of time. Many of the techniques found in this powerful style are common to the fighting systems of South China. Emphasis is placed on breath control and conditioning. What is now called GoJu Ryu or the hard/soft system was introduced into Okinawa by Kanryo Higaonna early in this century. His primary student, Chojun Miyagi, developed the style further incorporating three new forms (kata). At that time Goju Ryu did not have an official name. After some thought the name hard/soft was taken from the Bible of Karate called BUBISHI
